Dolly Records/RCA NashvilleAs expected, Dolly Parton lays claim to the #1 spot on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart this week, but the legendary entertainer also got a little bonus. She lands at the top of the same tally in Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom as well.
“Boy, it’s a good day for me. I am a happy girl!” the 70-year-old country icon says. “It feels great to be number-one as it’s been a long time and it feels so good to still be in the game after all this time.”
Pure & Simple also managed to land at #11 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart, after moving 21,000 units in the U.S. Parton fared even better on the U.K.’s overall albums tally, coming in at #2, second only to R&B singer Frank Ocean‘s Blonde.
