Area residents will have the opportunity to meet local service dogs and their handlers at the Canine Companions Meet and Greet on September 18 from 1 to 4 at the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas.

Michele Paden a volunteer with Canine Companions was recently a guest on KTLO’s Talk of the Town with Sammy Raycraft. She says the event is a great way for the public to ask questions about service dogs and learn about how they offer assistance to those in need.

Paden who has trained service dogs for “Paws for Justice,” a branch of Canine Companions, went on to share just how important these dogs are for people and especially children having to navigate the intimidating landscape of the court system.
