Thursday volleyball results include MH teams beating Greenbrier

The Mountain Home High School volleyball team ended its losing skid by defeating Greenbrier in straight sets on Thursday. The Lady Bombers posted scores of 25-18, 25-23 and 25-17.
Carson Schmitz led Mountain Home with 19 kills, 15 digs, three assists and three aces; Anna McCarn added eight kills; Ali Czanstkowski had 21 assists, six digs and four blocks; Addison Martz recorded 11 digs; Lauren Rauls finished with nine digs; and Cara Jackson ended up with six digs.
Mountain Home needed all three sets in the junior varsity match, but they were able to get past Greenbrier with scores of 16-25, 25-14 and 25-11. The J.V. Lady Bombers were led by Lorelai Green with seven kills; Micayla Magis had four kills and five assists; Bailey Byrd chipped in three kills; Jackson recorded two kills, 12 assists, 10 digs and four aces; Rauls finished with 11 digs; Peeka Traver ended up with 10 digs; Libby Dewey chipped in six digs; and Karleigh Drewry had five digs and three aces.

Mountain Home Christian Academy had a rough night as they lost a pair of matches at Highland.
The Lady Eagles lost the varsity match in straight sets as the Lady Rebels posted scores of 25-23, 26-24 and 25-13. Caroline Robinson led Mountain Home Christian with six kills, Kenna Riley had five kills and four blocks, Kayden Wright dished out 12 assists, and Joanna Oliger recorded five aces.
Mountain Home Christian also lost the junior varsity match in straight sets. Highland beat the J.V. Lady Eagles 25-20 and 25-16.

Flippin had a tough road trip as they went to Searcy. The Lady Bobcats suffered a straight set loss to Harding Academy by scores of 25-9, 25-12 and 25-20.

Yellville-Summit finished with two wins in three matches at Marshall. The varsity match was the only loss for the Lady Panthers as the Lady Bobcats won in straight sets with scores of 25-14, 25-15 and 25-23. Yellville-Summit fared better in the junior high match as topped Marshall in straight sets by scores of 25-23 and 25-16. The evening began with Yellville-Summit winning the junior high junior varsity match in straight sets with scores of 25-15 and 25-18.

The Salem High School team picked up another win in front of the home crowd. The Lady Greyhounds were able to beat Melbourne in straight sets.

Izard County had a rough outing on the road. The Lady Cougars suffered a straight set loss at Quitman.

Valley Springs was able to pick up a win at Rose Bud in four sets. The Lady Tigers topped the Lady Ramblers 25-15, 25-22, 20-25 and 25-14.

Harrison went on the road and defeated Russellville in straight sets. The Lady Goblins posted scores of 25-20, 25-22 and 25-12.
