On Tuesday, the Arkansas State Police arrested former Augusta High School Principal and softball coach 33-year-old Jacob Shafer Palestine on felony charges of second-degree sexual assault and sexual indecency with a child.
The arrest is the result of an investigation requested in July 2023 by the Woodruff County prosecutor after Shafer was terminated by the Augusta School District due to alleged inappropriate behavior with female students.
Shafer is being held in the Woodruff County Jail.
