
As the state of Arkansas is known for its natural disasters, one area official is looking to make sure his county is ready in case another one occurs. Fulton County Judge Kenneth Crow and others have been looking at a possible implementation of a hazard mitigation plan, but he says he is getting pushback from some of the county’s citizens.
Judge Crow says Fulton County would be one of the last in the state to put a plan together, but he says it’s important to lessen the impact of a disaster.

Since 1950, 112 tornadoes have been recorded in Fulton County, but that’s not the only thing officials are concerned about. Judge Crow says the potential for flooding is also a concern.

When it comes to the pushback he’s receiving, Judge Crow says one of the main concerns citizens have is the involvement of the federal government.
