The Baxter County Conservation District is currently running the Bull Shoals – White River 319 Water Quality Program. The objective of the program is to maintain or restore water quality in designated areas of Bull Shoals Lake and White River Watershed.
The program helps landowners reduce silt run off from their property by assisting in the implementation of best management practices with livestock. Conservation planning and cost sharing results in the establishment of usable vegetative cover on pastureland. Practices include cross fencing, livestock water lines and facilities, heavy use areas for feed and water stations and spraying for unwanted pasture weeds and planting.
For more information visit the Conservation District office located at 406 W. Wade Ave., Suite 2 or call 870-425-3527, extension 3.
