
Basketball makes up much of the local Saturday schedule and includes the Mountain Home High School teams wrapping up the Searcy Classic.
The Bomber boys will take the court first when they meet Cabot. Mountain Home is currently 5-1 after beating Newport on Friday. Tip-off at Lion Arena is scheduled for 1:30.
The Lady Bombers will follow with a matchup against Southside Batesville. The Lady Bombers are 5-4 following a defeat at the hands of Cabot. Gametime is set for 3.

The Izard County Tournament will get underway at Highland. In junior boys’ action, Flippin and Mountain View tip off at 1:30, and Calico Rock faces Izard County at 5:15. On the senior boys’ bracket, Flippin takes on Calico Rock at 2:45, and Mountain View plays Cave City at 7:45. Melbourne’s junior girls will be paired with Cave City at 4, and the Calico Rock senior girls meet Highland at 6:30.
Two area boys’ teams will square off in the championship game of the Forsyth Tournament. Gainesville faces Branson at 7.
Salem’s girls will compete for the championship of the Williams Baptist University High School Tournament at Walnut Ridge. The Lady Greyhounds take on Jonesboro Westside at 2.
Two area girls’ teams will face off on the last day of the Charles B. Dyer Classic at Alma. Mammoth Spring and Bergman tip off at 1.
Both of Lead Hill’s teams will play their openers in the Anstaff Bank Green Forest Holiday Tournament. The Tigers play Huntsville on the boys’ side at 2:20, and the Lead Hill girls will be matched up with Green Forest at 3:40.
Bergman’s boys will be back at Vilonia for the third place game of the V-Town Showdown. The Panthers meet Van Buren at 4:45.
The Valley Springs girls will play their last game in the Benton Holiday Classic. The Lady Tigers face Episcopal Collegiate at 10.
Jasper’s boys will compete for the title of the Anstaff Bank Bev Stone Memorial Border Classic at Omaha. The Pirates take on the New School at 7:30.
