In a press conference Wednesday afternoon, Douglas County Sheriff Chris Degase announced the arrests of three men in connection to the death of a woman in 1989.
The victim, Kelle Ann Workman, was abducted in Douglas County and her body was later recovered in Christian County, Mo. She was 25-years-old at the time of her death.
According to a report by KYTV, the suspects since Workman’s death, Bobby Lee Banks, Leonard Banks and Wiley Belt face charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping and forcible rape. All three men have been arrested.
Investigators in the case state an eyewitness came forward with evidence needed to take the case to a grand jury. Prosecutors state they have numerous witnesses who will also testify once the trials begin.
Workman disappeared while moving the grounds of a cemetery in Dogwood, Mo. on Missouri State Route 14 in Douglas County. Her parents found the mower she was using abandoned in a church parking lot and found her keys in the ignition of her car. Workman’s body was found eight days later approximately ten miles away from the church.
