An accident involving four vehicles, including two tractor trailers, resulted in one person being injured and a main intersection in Gainesville being blocked late Friday afternoon. Thirty-eight-year-old Claire York of Springfield was transported by ambulance to Baxter Health, and a Mountain Home woman and two other Missouri residents avoided injury.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, York was attempting to turn off Missouri Highway 5 North onto U.S. Highway 160. Her vehicle was reportedly struck by a tractor trailer driven by 46-year-old Isaac Idheileh of Nixa. Idheileh’s vehicle then struck another tractor trailer driven by 34-year-old Roman Shulimov of Rogersville, and Shulimov’s vehicle then hit a fourth vehicle driven by 73-year-old Deborah Hawkins of Mountain Home.
The 4:45 p.m. accident resulted in the intersection being closed for a short period of time. York’s vehicle and Idheileh’s tractor trailer were totaled, Shulimov’s tractor trailer had extensive damage, and Hawkins’ vehicle ended up with moderate damage.
