A few area Cal Ripken baseball teams began district play on Saturday.
Mountain Home dominated their first two games in the Cal Ripken Nine-Year-Old North District West Tournament at the Equity Bank Sports Complex in Harrison. The Sharks began by shutting out Springdale 22-0, and they later blanked Bentonville 29-0.
A pair of Mountain Home teams began action in the Cal Ripken Eight-Year-Old North District West Tournament at Springdale.
The Yetis’ first game was an 18-0 shutout victory over Rogers. The Yetis later beat up on Bentonville 13-3.
The Stars had mixed results on the day. They started by defeating Harrison 16-1, but they later fell to Springdale 9-2.
