The Cotter Elementary Chess Team delivered a strong performance at the OUR Educational Cooperative Chess Tournament, on December 5 at North Arkansas College in Harrison.
The 5th and 6th grade team captured third place overall, showcasing impressive skill against a competitive field of 15 teams and 56 individual players. Lucy Benham led the charge, earning third place individually with a 4-1 record for the day. Teammate Bryson Roberts matched her 4-1 performance, while Grayson Hughes contributed with a 3-2 record.
The tournament brought together young chess enthusiasts from across the region, providing a platform to develop strategic thinking and sportsmanship. The Warriors continued to build on a winning season for the chess team.
