Arkansas’ 95th General Assembly got underway Monday with new and returning legislators being sworn in at the State Capitol in Little Rock. One of the new faces in the House chamber is new District 4 State Representative Jason Nazarenko.

Nazarenko says it was a great experience to get sworn in to his new position with his family there to observe, and one of his biggest takeaways from the event was the passion everyone had toward providing help to their communities.

Nazarenko was elected to succeed Jack Fortner last year. Fortner decided not to seek reelection after serving four terms in the House.

Nazarenko says he has been in communication with various constituents prior to the start of the assembly. He tells KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot News one of the issues he would like to address is needs of volunteer fire departments.
