Regional basketball tournaments in Arkansas are set to hold their semifinal rounds on Friday.
The Class 3A Region 2 Tournament continues at Melbourne. On the girls’ side, the host Lady Bearkatz and Mountain View get underway at 4, and Bergman meets Manila at 7. On the boys’ bracket, Flippin faces Melbourne at 5:30, and Bergman takes on Osceola at 8:30.
Both of Izard County’s teams will compete in the semifinals of the Class 2A Region 2 Tournament at Riverside High School in Lake City. The Cougar boys play East Poinsett County at 5:30, and the Izard County girls will be paired with Buffalo Island Central at 7.
Rural Special’s girls will return to West Side High School in Greers Ferry for the semifinals of the Class 1A Region 2 Tournament. The Lady Rebels meet Earle at 4.
Three area teams will take part in the semifinals of the Class 1A Region 1 Tournament at Magazine. The Jasper girls tip off against County Line at 4. In the boys’ games, Jasper faces Mulberry at 5:30, and Lead Hill takes on County Line at 8:30.
Both of Ozark Mountain’s teams will be in Hackett for the semifinals of the Class 2A Region 1 Tournament. The Bears will be matched up with the host Hornets in the first boys’ game at 5:30, and the Ozark Mountain girls meet Mountainburg at 7.
