Tuesday results include wins for MHHS baseball, softball teams

The Mountain Home High School baseball team was able to win its first road tests of the season they swept a doubleheader at Gravette.  The Bombers began the day by doubling up the Lions 8-4, and they picked up the 10-0 shutout in the late game. Mountain Home improves to 4-0 on the season.

In other baseball action, Cotter fell to Izard County 9-7, Norfork defeated Concord 9-5, Flippin shut out Jasper 11-0, Viola topped Mammoth Spring 17-2, Mountain View lost to Highland 15-1, Valley Springs squeaked by Lamar 11-10, and Harrison routed Pea Ridge 13-3.

The Mountain Home softball team invoked the mercy rule in the fifth inning of its conference opener as they pounded Harrison 13-3. Emma King went the distance in the circle and struck out seven batters. Leah Bockstahler led the Lady Bomber offense by going 3-for-4 with four RBIs, Laken Anderson was 2-for-2 with two walks and an RBI, and Daelyn Harper went 2-for-4. Mountain Home improves to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the 5A-West.
Mountain Home also won the junior varsity contest 10-0. The J.V. Bombers are 1-0 on the year.

Among other softball scores, Flippin topped Jasper 22-9, Viola destroyed Hillcrest 31-2, and Marshall fell to Mountain View 14-8.
