The Mountain Home High School baseball team ended up suffering its first loss of the season on Friday. The Bombers went to Little Rock and fell to Joe T. Robinson 2-0. Mountain Home drops to 7-1 on the year.

Cotter went on the road and split a doubleheader with Mountainburg. The Warriors lost to the Dragons 9-5. Cotter bounced back in the late game and got past Mountainburg 9-7.

Flippin came away with dominating win on the road. The Bobcats breezed past Green Forest 11-2.

Gainesville began its baseball season with an easy win. In a battle between Bulldogs, Gainesville routed Cabool 16-1.

Salem ended up suffering an 8-6 defeat to Izard County at Brockwell. The Cougars’ record improves to 3-1.

Dora had a rough game in the the Champs Fitness Wood Bat Weekend at Liberty High School in Mountain View, Mo. The Falcons were shut out by the host Eagles 11-0.

Melbourne was able to win its opener in the First Community Bank Pioneer Classic at Batesville. The Bearkatz topped Cedar Ridge 7-2.

Bergman had a tough day in front of its home crowd. The Panthers lost a high-scoring game to Ozark Mountain 21-13.

Omaha also ended up with a home loss on Friday. The Eagles fell to Jasper by a final of 19-0.

In softball, Salem lost its opener in the Blazer Blast Tournament at Jonesboro. The Lady Greyhounds were edged out by Wynne 4-3.

Two area teams played their openers in the Ozarks Softball Classic at the Equity Bank Sports Complex in Harrison. Melbourne fell to Heritage 3-0, and Harrison was blanked by Tuckerman 15-0.

Omaha ended up with a loss on its home field. The Lady Eagles fell to Jasper 22-1.
