MHHS baseball team wins final game at Gulf Shores, softball team splits openers in Tennessee

The Mountain Home High School baseball team was able to conclude its run in the Gulf Shores Baseball Classic III on a winning note Wednesday in Alabama. The Bombers doubled up Billingsley, Ala., 10-5.
Lincoln Sherry led the Mountain Home offense by going 3-for-4, scoring three runs and driving in two more; Drew Haney was 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs; and Finley Chafin and Carter Adkins each went 1-for-3, drew a walk and scored twice.
Brodie Brown was the Bombers’ starting pitcher with 2 2/3 innings, three hits, four walks and four runs (two earned). Aiden Shrable, Ryder McClain and Adkins all pitched in relief.
Mountain Home improves to 9-2 on the season.

Mountain Home High School’s softball team had mixed results as they played a pair of Illinois schools in their openers at the Southern Warrior Classic at Murfreesboro, Tenn. The Lady Bombers began the day with a 15-9 win over Lake Zurich. Mountain Home did not fare as well in their second game as they were edged out by Normal West 12-11. The Lady Bombers are now 6-2 on the year.
