
Another season gets underway Thursday for the St. Louis Cardinals as they begin a six-game home stand. The Redbirds will begin the first of three straight interleague series as they face the Minnesota Twins.
St. Louis is coming off its second consecutive season in which it missed the playoffs. The Cardinals ended up in a tie for second place in the National League Central with a record of 83-79.
Minnesota also failed to return to the playoffs in 2024. The Twins ended up in fourth place in the American League Central last year as their final mark was 82-80.
Sonny Gray will take the mound for St. Louis, and Minnesota will go with Pablo Lopez. The first pitch at Busch Stadium is scheduled for 3:15. Thursday’s game can be heard on KTLO-AM. The broadcast begins early at 1:35 due to the Opening Day ceremonies.
