
Thursday’s sports schedule includes the Mountain Home High School softball team playing its third game in the Southern Warrior Classic at Murfreesboro, Tenn. The Lady Bombers will have the morning session as they meet Coffee County, Tenn., at 10.
Elsewhere on the softball schedule, Bakersfield travels to Dora.
Several high school baseball teams will be competing in the fifth-annual Forrest L. Wood Classic. At Norfork, Izard County and Heber Springs get underway at noon, Salem faces Heber Springs at 2, and the host Panthers take on Izard County at 4 and Salem at 6. At Flippin, Green Forest and East Poinsett County start the action at noon, the host Bobcats play Highland at 2 and EPC at 4, and Green Forest will be paired with Highland at 6. In this event, wood bats will be used.
Cotter’s baseball team will be in Tennessee for its opening game in the Clinch River Classic. The Warriors will play at Union City at 2.
Melbourne will be on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock for its first game in the Robinson Invitational. The Bearkatz will meet McCrory at 11:15.
In other high school baseball, Viola makes the trip across the state line to Couch.
