Yellville-Summit girls win Goblin Relays; MHHS boys finish tied for 3rd, girls end up 8th

The Goblin Relays were held Tuesday at F.S. Garrison Stadium in Harrison, and they ended with Yellville-Summit winning the girls’ title. Mountain Home finished tied for third on the boys’ side, and the Lady Bombers were eighth.

Harrison ended up at the top of the boys’ team leaderboard, Marshall took second place, Yellville-Summit finished in a tie for third with Mountain Home, Flippin was fifth, Timbo ended up seventh, Cotter took eighth place, Harrison’s junior varsity team finished tied for ninth, Omaha was 11th, and Bergman ended up 12th.

Individually for the Bombers, Eli Lane won the 800-meter run, Trenton Smith took second place in the 1600-meter and 3200-meter runs, and Caiden Kasper finished second in the 400-meter dash. The team of Jackson Free, Connor King, Garrett Barr and Levi Payne won the 4×800-meter relay; and Jonah Hartman, Lane, Sam Rodriguez and Tyler Lukac were third in the 4×400-meter relay.

Among other area athletes, Flippin’s Kolby Hurst won the high jump, Marshall’s Jake Massey won the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, Toby Campbell of Marshall won the discus throw, Harrison’s Noah Morris won the triple jump and the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles, Harrison’s Hunter Frickle won the 1600-meter and 3200-meter runs, Caleb Melendez of Harrison won the long jump, Avery Brumley of Harrison won the pole vault, Harrison’s Dayton Waters won the shot put, and Killian Eddings of Harrison won the 400-meter dash. Flippin’s team of Christian Wire, Blayne Thompson, Kolby Hurst and Colin English won the 4×200-meter relay; Melendez, Morris, Eddings and Mason Isbell of Harrison won the 4×100-meter relay; and Harrison’s Eddings, Morris, Melendez and Jaxon Nolen won the 4×400-meter relay.

On the girls’ side, Omaha ended up third, Harrison took fourth place, Flippin finished fifth, Bergman was seventh, Cotter ended up ninth, Timbo took 10th place, and Marshall finished 11th.

For Mountain Home, Lucy Koehn won the 1600-meter run and was second in the 800-meter run, and Savannah Costner ended up third in the 1600-meter run.

Among other athletes, Autumn Loomis of Flippin won the high jump, Yellville-Summit’s Hannah Hayward won the triple jump and prequalified for the state meet in the long jump and the high jump, Fay Chism of Yellville-Summit won the pole vault and prequalified for state in the 100-meter hurdles, Yellville-Summit’s Bailey Ervin won the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes, and Riley Hopson of Omaha won the 800-meter run. Yellville-Summit’s team of Hayward, Kamiah Gerth, Chism and Ervin won the 4×400-meter relay; Alyssa Montgomery, Brinkley Dove, Riley Harness and Lily Cate Arnold of Harrison won the 4×200-meter and 4×100-meter relays.
