A woman has been arrested for taking out credit cards using her son’s information in 2023 while she was living in the Mountain Home area. Fifty-six-year-old Lisa Renee Sherrill, who now lists an address in Hardy, is facing three felony charges in the case.

According to the probable cause affidavit from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, the victim reported he was notified by his credit card company he would be receiving his new card. He called the company to report he did not order a new card and when he verified the address, it was his mother’s address. He told investigators he has a no contact order against his mother.

The victim provided a credit history which showed Sherrill had opened two credit cards and obtained a $15,000 loan for debt consolidation.

When questioned by investigators, Sherrill admitted to opening the accounts, but said she threw the credit cards away and cancelled the loan. She said she had been fired from her job and did not have any money and her power was about to be shut off.

Sherrill is charged with three counts of financial identity fraud. She turned herself in at the Baxter County Detention Center Monday morning and is free after posting $10,000 bond.
