Every year, the Social Security Administration charts the most popular baby names across the country and per state. The top five boys’ names for Arkansas in 2024 were Liam, Oliver, Noah, Elijah and Asher and the top five for girls were Olivia, Amelia, Emma, Charlotte and Harper.

Compared to the national top 5 names, Elijah and Asher knocked down Theodore and James for boys’ names and Harper was more popular for girls in Arkansas to usurp Mia as the 5th highest. Oliver trended higher than Noah and Amelia topped Emma in Arkansas compared to national naming trends.

While some names persisted in popularity across the state compared to 2023, there were some notable differences. Charlotte had been 3rd place in 2023 before being knocked down to 4th last year. Harper had ranked 7th in 2023, but rose in prominence to push Evelyn out of top five.

Boys’ names had more variance when comparing the last two years. Hudson and William had both taken the number four and five spots respectively in 2023 but were both taken out in 2024. Elijah had been right on the cusp of the top five before entering it last year while Asher jumped up from ninth to achieve the number five spot.
