Viola Schools recently announced a partnership which will help its cafeteria offer improved menus and services. Starting in the 2025-26 school year, SchoolEats will step in to help build programs which will prioritize student choice and increase participation.
SchoolEats will provide additional support, training and purchasing power to help elevate the cafeteria, however the district will remain self-operated and the same team will continue serving students. Compass Group, to which SchoolEats belongs to, is the largest purchaser of food in the world, meaning Viola Schools will be able to benefit from increased access to high-quality ingredients.
Superintendent Kyle McCarn says “This partnership will give them the tools and resources they need to take things to the next level, while still keeping that close-knit, homegrown approach Viola is known for.”
Another benefit for students includes the program “What’s Cooking,” a hands-on, interactive initiative to bring nutrition education to students to help them make healthy choices.
Students can look forward to new food programs such as baked potato bars, fresh fruit parfaits, build-your-own taco days and homemade-style cookies.
