Heavy rain showers kept area residents indoors over the Memorial Day weekend as a flood watch remains in effect until Monday evening warning of more rainfall to come.

At KTLO, Classic Hits and the Boot, the official reporting station for the National Weather Service (NWS) here in Mountain Home, 2.76 inches of precipitation has been recorded since Friday morning. This puts us at 8.28 inches of precipitation having fallen in the month of May so far.

We spoke with NWS meteorologist Joe Goudsward and he says it’s not over yet.
