A boil order has been issued for the Baxter Marion Water Association which affects 191 customers in Oakland, Promise Land and along Highway 5 North.
The break was identified on Highway 5 North Wednesday evening a quarter mile south of County Road 15. Water service is continuing to be restored through the night but some service may take until Thursday morning to be fully restored. The boil order was issued Wednesday evening as a precautionary measure due to possible contamination as a result of the main break.
All affected customers are advised the water may be unsafe for human consumption, and water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use. All ice cubes should be discarded and only boiled water used for making ice.
