Double homicide under investigation at Devil’s Den State Park

Arkansas State Police are investigating a double homicide after a man and woman were found dead on a walking trail at Devil’s Den State Park on Saturday afternoon.

Authorities responded to the scene around 2:40 and discovered the bodies of a 43-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman. State police said the deaths are being investigated as homicides.

The suspect is described as a white man wearing dark shorts, a dark tank top, and weight-lifting gloves. He was last seen driving a black four-door sedan, possibly a Mazda, with a license plate obscured by electrical or duct tape. The vehicle may have been traveling on State Highway 170 or State Highway 220 near the park.

A heavy law enforcement presence remains in the area as police continue to search for the suspect and follow leads.

The victims’ bodies will be taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to determine the cause and manner of death.
