Arkansas State Police have released a composite sketch of a man seen at Devil’s Den State Park on Saturday, July 26, as part of an ongoing investigation into the deaths of a Prairie Grove couple.
Clinton David Brink, 43, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41, were found dead on a hiking trail in the park that afternoon. The couple had recently moved to Arkansas and were hiking with their two daughters, ages 7 and 9, who were not injured and are now with family members.
ASP investigators believe the suspect may have sustained an injury during the attack and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him. The man is described as a white male of medium build, wearing a long-sleeved shirt with the sleeves rolled up, dark pants, a dark ballcap, sunglasses, and fingerless gloves. He was carrying a black backpack and was last seen driving toward a park exit in a black four-door sedan, possibly a Mazda, with a license plate covered by electrical or duct tape. The vehicle may have traveled on State Highway 170 or State Highway 220.
ASP’s Criminal Investigation Division is leading the case and has requested that anyone who visited the park on July 26 review cellphone photos, GoPro footage, or security camera recordings for images of the suspect or his vehicle. Area residents with access to game or surveillance cameras are also encouraged to check for possible evidence.
The victims’ family released a statement on Monday, July 28, asking for privacy as they grieve, and called on anyone with information to come forward. “Clinton and Cristen died heroes, protecting their little girls and they deserve justice,” the statement said.
Anyone with information about the suspect or his whereabouts should contact ASP Troop L at (479) 751-6663, Extension 2, or call 911. ASP noted that it has received numerous public tips and that all voicemail messages will be returned.
The investigation remains ongoing, with assistance from local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
