This week, host Adam Rogers sits down with Josh Bird, Director of the DFC and project coordinator for the PAYS (Prevention Awareness Youth Support) Coalition, serving Baxter and Marion County. Josh shares how the coalition partners with the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office for National Take-Back Day—a community effort that makes it easy to safely dispose of unused or expired medications.
Together, they discuss how this bi-annual event helps prevent drug misuse, accidental poisoning, and environmental damage caused by improper disposal. Residents can simply drive up, drop off, and make a difference—no questions asked.
And if you miss the event, don’t worry: the Sheriff’s Office maintains a secure, 24/7 drop box at 206 West 8th Street in Mountain Home, under continuous video monitoring. It’s a simple step that helps keep our community—and our environment—safe.
