SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) _ Mauricio Ramos doubled and singled twice, driving in a
run and also scoring one as the Northwest Arkansas Naturals topped the
Springfield Cardinals 10-4 on Wednesday.
Frank Schwindel doubled twice with three runs for NW Arkansas.
Down 2-1, the Naturals took the lead for good with five runs in the fifth
inning. Zane Evans hit a two-run double en route to the four-run lead.
The Naturals later added two runs in both the eighth and ninth innings. In the
eighth, Alfredo Escalera and Ramos both drove in a run, while Samir Duenez and
Logan Moon both drove in a run in the ninth.
Aroni Nina (3-0) got the win with 2 2/3 innings of scoreless, two-hit relief
while Johnny Walter (0-5) took the loss in the Texas League game.
The seven extra-base hits for NW Arkansas included a season-high seven doubles.
Luis Cruz tripled and singled twice, driving in three runs for the Cardinals.
