Jerrod Allen Sisk of Briarcliff was given 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to a number of drug-related offenses in addition to misdemeanor theft of property charges during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

In the probable cause affidavit, the details of drug transactions between the 35-year-old Sisk and a confidential informant were laid out. According to court records, the confidential informant purchased methamphetamine from Sisk on several dates in September with law enforcement officers monitoring and recording the conversation between the two.

In a somewhat unusual turn for a drug buy case, Sisk agreed to provide drugs to the confidential informant on September 23rd, accepted $450 to pay for the methamphetamine, but instead of providing the drug, took the money and ran.

Sisk was also charged with unlawful use of a communications device in that a cellphone was used to arrange the logistics of the various drug buys.

The Sisk case was investigated by officers with the Mountain Home Police Department, Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force and the Arkansas State Police.
