Laura Waters of Arkansas State University Mountain Home’s Pipeline to Advanced Manufacturing program will be the guest speaker for the December meeting of the Twin Lakes Chapter Arkansas Volunteer Coordinators Association.

The Donald W. Reynolds Library will host the AVCA meeting December 12 at 1:30. The public is invited to attend.

Waters is one of the case managers for the Pipeline program. The Pipeline program is for Baxter and Marion county residents who want to increase their potential by entering the workforce or moving up to advanced positions with area manufacturers. Through many partnerships with area agencies, organizations, and manufactures, the Pipeline can assess a candidate’s interests and skills to determine the best way to help the set and reach goals for self-sufficiency. This is down through employer-requested trainings, employment credentials, education, and life-skills classes.

AVCA is a professional association for administrators of volunteer programs, and people interested in the field of volunteerism. AVCA includes a diverse set of members, including volunteer administrators, managers and coordinators from nonprofits, community serve organizations, hospitals, government agencies and corporations.

The Twin Lakes chapter includes anyone in Baxter and Marion counties. They meet the second Monday of each month at 1:30 for meetings and workshops. For more information contact Julie Stewart at 580-0976 or julie.s@baxlib.org.
