Thieves in Texarkana steal truck, equipment, ATM and cash

TEXARKANA, Texas (AP) – Police say a quadruple theft in northeast Texas involved a stolen rental truck, equipment swiped from a construction site, an ATM hauled off and all of the cash inside.

Texarkana police on Friday made no immediate arrests in the ATM theft from a Red River Federal Credit Union branch. Police say the thieves fled with an undetermined amount of money.

Police before dawn Friday responded to an alarm at the financial institution, at a time when the credit union was closed. Officers determined an ATM had been stolen.

Investigators believe a stolen skylift was used to knock over and remove the ATM from its footings. The ATM was then loaded into a stolen rental truck and driven away.

Texarkana police didn’t immediately provide additional information on the investigation.
