Ybarra arrested again on felony charges

A Mountain Home man, 24-year-old Jonathan Michael Ybarra, was arrested again Saturday morning on felony charges related to domestic violence allegations. Ybarra is already facing charges from January seventh of last year of sexual indecency with a child, indecent exposure and disorderly conduct.

According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, Corporal Robert Recktenwald was dispatched to 1872 Hwy 178 West at approximately 10:24 Saturday morning. The victim, Ybarra’s pregnant ex-wife, said he had assaulted her. He was alleged to have pushed her down the floor, choked her, and punched her in the face. She managed to escape temporarily and locked herself in a room inside the residence.

Ybarra then apparently kicked the door open, took the phone away from her while she attempted to call for help, and continued to assault her. According to a report from the Sheriff’s office, she had injuries consistent with her report. A one year old child was present at the time when the alleged assault took place. Ybarra’s ex-wife was subsequently transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center by ambulance.

Ybarra left the residence in the her vehicle. Deputies began searching for him and Corporal Recktenwald found the vehicle and Ybarra about an hour later at the Triangle Citgo Station in Midway. He was taken into custody and transported to the Detention Center. He later admitted to knowing the victim is pregnant.

He was booked on charges of felony domestic battery and misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a minor and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He remains in custody in lieu of a $10,000 bond. He is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing on January 26th for his original charges and is also expected to answer to the new charges in circuit court.
