An Illinois parolee, 46-year-old Joseph Alan Pritchard, whose address is listed in Briarcliff, was arrested Monday on felony theft of property and fraudulent use of a credit card. He was booked into the Baxter County Jail and released the same day on a $5,000 bond.

According to an arrest affidavit and warrant from Baxter County, the charges stem from two separate occasions. On April 28 silver coins were allegedly stolen from his mother’s house with an approximate value of $12,000. In December, Pritchard’s mother discovered her bank account and that of her boyfriend had been accessed by him while she was at work. Pritchard had moved in with the couple in October of 2015 and was kicked out due to stealing from them.

They received information Pritchard was pawning items at a local pawn shop in Mountain Home. Upon doing an inventory of their house, $475 was missing from a piggy bank. Approximately 33 pounds of silver coins and a circular saw were also missing. Pritchard was confronted with the missing items and he allegedly promised to pay the money back.

He was scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.
