Cardinals CF Pham leaves spring training game after headfirst slide

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (AP) St. Louis Cardinals center fielder Tommy Pham left a spring training game after jarring himself on a headfirst slide. Pham was thrown out trying to steal second base Friday against the New York Mets. Shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera tagged the 29-year-old Pham on the helmet as the Mets defeated the Cardinals 16-2.

The Cardinals continue spring training action as they again face the Mets at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter. The first pitch is scheduled for 12:05 with coverage beginning at 11:45 on KTLO-AM 1240.
