PARAGOULD, Ark. (AP) – Arkansas State Police is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a Greene County Jail inmate at a cemetery in Paragould.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that the body of 22-year-old Christopher A. Daniels who was found at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Linwood Cemetery.
State police spokesman Bill Sadler says Daniels had been operating an all-terrain vehicle inside the cemetery before he died. Sadler says the cause of death was not immediately known. Daniels' body will be sent to the state crime laboratory for an autopsy.
Paragould police say Daniels was arrested for a probation violation. A detective at the Paragould Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division declined to answer questions about the case.
The findings of the State Police investigation will be forwarded to a prosecuting attorney.
