Convicted felon charged with terroristic threatening, battery

A Mountain Home man, 25-year-old Chad Allen McDaniel, has been arrested and charged with terroristic threatening, third degree battery, possession of a firearm by a felon, and possession of a defaced firearm. McDaniel, is being held in the Baxter County Dentention Center on a $20,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in circuit court on Thursday.According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, on Tuesday morning sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Highway 62 east of Mountain Home to a report of a man with a gun threatening to kill family members.

Upon arrival, deputies encountered one of the victims running down the road towards them. The victim told deputies the suspect had a pistol and had threatened to kill her and another family member.

Deputies were able to locate and safely secure two small children at the residence. Deputies searched an RV on the property and the immediate area, locating the suspect behind a shed at the rear of the residence. Deputies also located a loaded .380 pistol that was defaced.
