Volunteer campground hosts are being sought for the Buffalo National River. Buffalo National River utilizes volunteers as campground hosts in six of the campgrounds along the river from Erbie in the upper Buffalo to Buffalo Point in the lower river.

Hosts help visitors locate campsites, answer questions, and assist park staff with campground operations. Living in the campground allows hosts the opportunity to expand their knowledge and experiences of the Buffalo River and to share this knowledge with people from all over the country.

Hosts need their own self-sustained housing such as a camper trailer or motor home. Most of the host sites in the campgrounds provide electricity, water and sewer hook-ups. Hosts work 32-40 hours per week.

If you are interested in becoming a host at a Buffalo National River campground, you can apply at www.volunteer.gov.

For more information about the campground host program, please call Middle District Ranger at 870/439-2502 or visit the Tyler Bend Visitor Center off Hwy 65.
