Nikki Malloy of Mountain Home was sentenced to six years probation during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday and was also ordered to pay slightly more than $4,100 in restitution for lottery tickets she took while working as a clerk at a liquor store in Norfork. The 23-year-old Malloy had earlier pled guilty before the court and her sentencing was set for Thursday.

The tickets were taken during a period beginning in mid-July 2015 until August 23, 2015 when Malloy was fired from her job.

Malloy was developed as a suspect after the store’s owner became suspicious and began checking records and reviewing surveillance camera tapes where she was able to observe Malloy in the act of taking the tickets.

In the probable cause affidavit filed in the case, investigators reported Malloy tried to work out a plan to repay the store, but no such plan had been presented at the time charges were filed. The owner had also received phone, text and Facebook messages from Malloy admitting her guilt and apologizing for her actions.
