Bluegrass is on tap for the third series of Mountain Home’s Friday Night Block Party on the Square. The show is scheduled to kick off at 7:00 Friday evening. Gravel Yard has been performing bluegrass music in the Ozarks for about 5 years now,and have honed their package down to a precision unit.According to Event Coordinator Ron Shire Joe Batterton is the anchor, he
provides lead and tenor vocals, and plays the bass. Mark Edwards brings blazing banjo
to the group, as well as lead and baritone vocals. Art Kershaw rounds it out, with lead
and tenor vocals, and adds the guitar that wraps it all together.

Shire says they have a firm base in traditional bluegrass, and have also applied “banjo logic” to a lot of great music that needed it, so there will be some pleasant surprises. With their long history of bluegrass performance in many bands throughout the region, he says it’s obvious these guys love bluegrass music.
Gravel Yard can be found at many local events and venues.

The Friday Night Block Party will go through the second Friday of September. The family friendly event will have vendors, food, crafts and prizes.
