The Twin Lakes Area has experienced some high waters leading to flooding issues in 2017, but for the most part, business should go on as usual. The Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce says the area is open for business including the local lakes and marinas.

Recently, social media posts went out reporting Bull Shoals and Norfork Lakes and their surrounding marinas were closed due to the water level, but Chamber CEO and Economic Director Jeff Pipkin says those rumors are not true.

In addition to the lakes, Pipkin is encouraging residents and visitors to take advantage of the White and North Fork Rivers.

Several other outdoor activities are available in the Twin Lakes Area including David’s Trail, local golf courses, the Friday Night Block Party on the Square and more.

Another event beginning this week is the annual Red, White and Blue Festival including country music artist Aaron Tippin performing Thursday night and culminating with the fireworks show on Saturday. Both events will be held on the campus of Arkansas State University-Mountain Home.

In addition, several youth baseball players from across the country will gather in the Twin Lakes Area as Mountain Home hosts the Babe Ruth 13-Year-Old World Series August 10th through 17th. Pipkin says that should provide an economic boost on the local level.
