The statewide 2018 Arkansas Museums Association conference will be held at the Calico Rock Museum and Visitor Center and the Ozark Folk Center. The annual conference is attending by approximately 150 museum professionals, volunteers, and board members from across the state. The conference is held at the end of March each year and includes educational sessions, the association business luncheon, and the awards banquet.

The association members include both small institutions, such as Calico Rock, and large institutions, such as Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, and state-operated museums, such as the Old Statehouse and Historic Arkansas Museum.

Calico Rock Museum Executive Director Gloria Sanders says, “This is a tremendous honor for Calico Rock, Mountain View, and our Ozark mountain region to be selected to host the conference.”

Sanders adds, “It is a culmination of a lot of work over the years to position ourselves and improve our facilities to the point that we could be considered as a host site.”
