A coach at North Arkansas College received another title this week. Pioneers’ head baseball coach Bobby Howard was promoted to athletic director at the Harrison school on Friday.

Howard began his third stint at Northark last year after serving as interim head coach for the last eight baseball games of the 2016 season, and he was given the full-time position last June. He first joined the Pioneers’ athletic program in 1991 as the head coach for baseball and women’s basketball. Howard left the baseball team the following year, but he continued to coach the Lady Pioneers through 1998.

Howard returned to the Northark women’s basketball program for three more seasons after spending one year at Harrison High School. He went back to the high school ranks and coached baseball and girls’ basketball at Bergman through 2014. Howard spent one year at Wynne before being hired by the Ozark Mountain School Board in 2015 to coach boys’ and girls’ basketball at Bruno-Pyatt.

Howard succeeds Stacie Klott as the athletic director at Northark. Klott resigned last week to spend for time with her family.
