The Mountain Home 12-year-old baseball team picked up its second bracket victory Monday morning in the Cal Ripken Major/70 World Series at Branson. The local All-Stars advanced to the United States quarterfinals as they edged out Waite Park, Minnesota, by a final of 3-2. Mountain Home improves to 3-2 in the tournament.
Mountain Home will return to action Monday afternoon at the Ballparks of America as they will be paired with Mililani KC from Hawaii. Mililani KC came into the World Series as the Pacific Southwest regional champions, and they are the top-seeded team out of U.S. Group A after going 2-1 in group play. The first pitch at Chicago Field is scheduled for three p.m.
