The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office will be offering tours of the County Jail to the public Friday. According to Captain Jeff Lewis, Sheriff John Montgomery will be on hand to give tours of the jail and facilities every two hours on the hour. The tours will begin at 8:00 Friday morning, then they will be given at 10:00, noon, 2:00, 4:00 and 6:00.

Montgomery encourages the public to stop by and view the Baxter County Jail, learn about the operators, and ask questions.

Anyone wishing to take the jail tour needs to assemble near the front public entrance of the jail at the designated times. Purses, cell phones, and pocket knives will not be allowed in the facility. They also ask to not wear “flip-flop” type footwear during the tour.
