Ryan Farnam, the husband of alleged burglary suspect Rashel Farnam, has pled guilty to charges that he tried to sell a ring valued at $2,000 which was allegedly one of the items stolen by his wife from the home of relatives along Buzzard Roost Road. The 34-year-old Farnam was given three years probation during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday. He was sentenced under provisions of Act 346, meaning if he stays out of trouble during his probation period, he can apply to the courts to have his record sealed.

According to court records, the jewelry and other items, with an estimated value of up to $50,000, were allegedly taken by Farnam’s wife. According to the probable cause affidavit in that case, the victims arrived home in late June and discovered numerous items missing from their home, including firearms, an antique guitar, laptop computer and a large quantity of jewelry.

Entrance to the residence was made through a sliding glass door at the rear of the home, according to a news release from Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery. Rashel Farnam was developed as a suspect and brought in for questioning. She was reported to have become irate and was uncooperative. At one point, she threatened the lives of the victims.

Both victims have taken out orders of protection against Rashel Farnam.

Ryan Farnam was reported to have gone to the home of a relative of the theft victims and tried to sell the ring for $400. The family member took the ring without paying for it and told Ryan to leave. She returned the ring to the rightful owners.

According to court records, Ryan Farnam told investigators he had found the ring in Rashel’s Farham’s purse. Investigators noted, however, the purse had been searched on June 26th, and the ring was not located at that time.

At one point during his sentencing Thursday, Ryan Farnam said he had offered to sell the ring to one of his wife’s relatives “to get it back into the family.”
