Douglas Leisey of Cotter pled guilty to charges that he had been making and passing fake prescriptions to obtain drugs and was sentenced to five years probation during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.According to the probable cause affidavit in the file, Mountain Home police were called to a local pharmacy on March 21st to investigate a prescription that had been discovered as fraudulent.

The next day, a separate pharmacy contacted police to advise that they had just received a fraudulent prescription to fill and the suspect was still in the building.

Officers arrived at the business and made contact with the 28-year-old Leisey. When questioned, Leisey admitted that he had been making the fake prescriptions at his residence using a computer and printer and had passed at least four of the fraudulent documents.

Police seized his computer and printer along with several duplicate printed prescriptions and pills in unmarked containers.

Leisey was sentenced under the provisions of Act 346, meaning if he stays out of trouble during his probation period, he can apply to the court to have his record sealed.
