ST. LOUIS (AP) _ R.A. Dickey held St. Louis to one run in seven innings,
Brandon Phillips hit a two-run homer and the Atlanta Braves stopped the
Cardinals’ season-high, eight-game winning streak with a 6-3 victory Sunday.
Atlanta stopped a five-game losing streak, beat the Cardinals for the first time
in six meetings this year.
The loss, coupled with the Cubs’ win over Arizona, leaves the Cardinals one game
behind Chicago in the National League Central.
St. Louis has Monday night off before beginning a two-game series in Boston
Tuesday night.
