Felisha Ann Jones of Mountain Home pled guilty to a number of charges, including fighting with a Baxter County Deputy Sheriff, and was sentenced to 12 months probation during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

Her original charges were amended to lesser offenses.

Deputies had been called to a home along Hicks Roads several times in mid-January when it was reported that the 50-year-old Jones was attempting to gain entry to the residence, including beating on the door, yelling and threatening the occupant.

A deputy was called back to the residence in the early morning hours of January 16th on the same type complaint and the deputy attempted to arrest Jones.

Jones, who said she was at the residence to get property of hers that was in the house, refused to cooperate with the deputy, saying she was not going to jail. The deputy reported that Jones punched him the head multiple times, bit his left arm and spit in his face.

The deputy’s injuries were fairly minor and he required no medical treatment, according to information in the probable cause affidavit.

The deputy eventually got handcuffs on Jones but she continued to be combative and he had to hold her down on the ground until other deputies arrived to assist in getting her into the patrol car for transport to the county jail.
