MHHS tennis sweeps Marion to begin conference

The Mountain Home High School tennis teams had a successful start to conference play with a sweep of Marion at home Tuesday. Both teams improve to 2-0-1 on the season and 1-0 in the 6A East.

The Lady Bombers have not lost in their last 19 matches after dispatching Marion 7-1. Emily Heide won two singles matches and Elizabeth Lewis won one. In doubles action, Megan Beck and Sydney Czanstkowski won twice as did the team of Sarah Godfrey and Mandelyn Smeltzer.

The Bombers defeated Marion 8-0. Billy Beck and Jack Arp each won two singles matches. The doubles teams of Sam Arp and CJ Blackmon along with Dylan Kimbriel and Grahm Davidson each won twice as well.

In J.V. girl’s action, Chloe Nosari and Karoline Yeakley both won their matches.

On the boy’s side, the doubles teams of Garrett Steelman and Alex Huebner, Jake McGehee and Clayton Jones, Steelman and McGehee along with Georges Blardat and Armin Mortazi all won their matches.

The tennis teams will host Searcy next Tuesday. The match against Jonesboro scheduled for Tuesday has been moved to September 28th.
