(AP) – Arkansas’ highest court says it’ll move quickly to
take up a case on whether officials should be required to release more
information about one of the drugs the state plans to use when it executes a convicted killer in November. The state Supreme Court on Thursday granted a motion to expedite the state’s appeal of a judge’s ruling that Arkansas release the drug labels and package inserts for Arkansas’ supply of midazolam, one of the three drugs used in its lethal injection process. Justices on Wednesday stopped from taking effect the judge’s order that the materials be released by late Thursday afternoon.

The attorney suing for the records asked that the case be expedited since
Arkansas plans to execute an inmate Nov. 9.
